CWC Newsletter
September 2026

Dear readers,

Autumn is settling in!

We’re wrapping up September with this newsletter and only a few items to share.

To all Canadian cultural sector organizations: the Student Work Placement program is still accepting requests. The 20-minute form and less-than-2-week-turnaround are a great way to secure funds and cross off some work items while providing a work-integrated-learning (WIL) experience to Canadians studying in a Canadian postsecondary education institution.

As always, it’s never too late to sign up or renew your membership with us!

Kind regards,

Grégoire

A big thanks to Interactive Ontario for the invitation to attend tiff: the market’s What's Next?: Trends from an Increasingly Immersive World (presentation by Katrina Lat) and the reception where we saw a bunch of familiar faces and made new acquaintances.

The International Federation of Coalitions for Cultural Diversity (IFCCD) has submitted its comments as part of the public consultation conducted by UNESCO on the proposed revision of the Operational Guidelines for the implementation of the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions in the digital environment.

Through this contribution, the IFCCD reaffirms its commitment to amplifying the voice of civil society in international cultural governance processes. It continues to work closely with national coalitions and partners worldwide to ensure that international instruments reflect the realities faced by artists and cultural professionals.

And, in case you missed it, the Government of Canada’s What We Heard at The National Summit on Artificial Intelligence and Culture is worth a look.

Dancer Transition Resource Centre

The Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC) is a national, charitable organization dedicated to helping dancers make necessary transitions into, within, and from professional performing careers. We also operate as a resource centre for the dance community and general public and support activities that improve the socioeconomic conditions of artists across the country. As a world leader in dancer transition, we are active participants in international conferences and research initiatives and help drive change within the dance community.
