New Project Funding

We are pleased to announce CWC has been approved for funding from the Ottawa Community Foundation. This grant is to support Phase 1 of the feasibility study for the Canadian Network for Cultural Management. We remain committed to supporting ongoing initiatives and future collaborations with Arts Consultants Canada (ACCA) and many other arts service organisations that enhance the sector and benefit the broader community.

Thank you to the Anonymous Fund - Ottawa Community Foundation for your support!

Internships

We would like to thank everyone who applied for wage subsidies through the YCW program. Due to limited funds, we are able to subsidize 30 positions with 30 employers despite 95 strong applications received. For those selected to receive the wage subsidies, Culture Works Canada looks forward to working with you during this fiscal year. The next intake cycle will take place between November 2025 and January 2026.

CWC has begun evaluating applications for the 2025-2026 Student Work Placement Program (SWP). Applicants can typically expect to receive a response within 2 weeks of the submission. Wage subsidies will vary based on available funding.

For approved SWP program recipients with student positions starting Spring 2025, an administrator from CWC will contact you shortly to schedule a First Report. Please note, the first report is mandatory to qualify for funding, and must be completed by both the student and employer.

CWC hosts weekly SWP information sessions, Thursday at 1 pm EST. Join us via Google Meets if you have questions.

CWC On the Road

CWC is proud to support programs focused on providing Work Integrated Learning opportunities. Recently, we visited Ottawa and Montreal to meet employers and interns participating in the Student Work Placement Program and Young Canada Works. Our meetings with the Ottawa Guitar Society, MASC, CAPACOA, Culture Montérégie, Micheal Crochetiere, and the Ottawa Arts Council highlighted the importance and effectivness of these programs.

Thank you for sharing your experiences and the amazing hospitality!
